He was born on March 1, 1961 in Kırıkkale.

Between 1972-1979, he completed his secondary and high school education at TED Ankara Private School.

He got into Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in 1979 and graduated in 1985.

Between 1985-1986, he worked in Edirne, Keşan Suluca Health Center.

Between 1986-1992, he specialized in the Department of General Surgery at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine and became General Surgery specialist in 1992.

Between 1992-1994, he worked as Head Physician at Trabzon State Hospital.

In 1993, he did military service at Ankara Mevki Hospital in 1993.

Between 1988 and 1989, he received a scholarship from the Medical College of Wisconsin for one year and went to the United States of United States of America for his education.

He took part in studies on breast diseases at the Cleveland Clinic Breast Center in the USA in 1998 and at the Royal Liverpool Hospital Breast Center in Liverpool, England in 2003.

Between 1993 and 1995, he worked as a lecturer at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery.

Between 1995 and 1999, he worked as an assistant professor at the same university.

Between 1999 and 2005, he worked as an associate professor.

He has been working as a professor at Gazi University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery since 2005.
